- Air France and KLM extend contracts with Hamburg Airport Ground Handling
Easyjet becomes new customer of Hamburg Airport Ground Handling
The airlines Air France and KLM have extended their contracts with airport subsidiaries GroundSTARS, STARS and CATS for aircraft ground handling services. GroundSTARS' responsibilities will include loading and unloading baggage, while STARS will take care of passenger bus transfers and CATS will clean the cabins in the airlines' aircraft. This was the first joint ground handling contract in Hamburg for the two renowned airlines, which merged in May, 2004.
Air France and KLM have been customers of Hamburg Airport's ground handling services from the beginning. They have extended their contracts for three years beginning
August 1, 2005. “This shows how satisfied these well-known airlines are with the service provision of the airport subsidiaries,” explains Ulrike Riedel, Head of Ground Handling at Hamburg Airport.
The low-cost carrier easyjet, a new arrival at northern Germany’s largest airport, will be connecting Hamburg non-stop with Basel from August 11, 2005. Easyjet, too, trust the reliable and qualified ground handling services provided by Hamburg Airport. The subsidiaries GroundSTARS and STARS will be delivering ground handling services for the new connection from the maiden flight on, performing an important function for this new route.
